This special issue examines trust, credibility, media literacy, contested knowledge, AI-generated content, platform infrastructures, and changing relationships between media institutions, communities, and audiences.
Topics include
- media trust, credibility, scepticism, and distrust
- media, news, information, digital, and AI literacy
- misinformation, disinformation, rumours, and contested knowledge
- AI-generated and synthetic media
- independent, alternative, activist, and community media
- social media, creator cultures, and influencer economies
- platform governance and algorithmic visibility
- decolonial, Indigenous, and Global South perspectives on media trust
- institutional trust, public knowledge, resilience, and repair
Eligibility
The call is intended for current graduate students and early-career researchers within five years of completing the PhD.
Submission
Abstracts should be no more than 350 words and accompanied by a brief biography for each author. Selected authors will be invited to submit a full paper.
